I´m just going to try and start from where I left off. As of last P day, I was assigned to teach a lesson in priesthood on the BoM. I didn't realize how hard it was to prepare a lesson without the internet haha. Anyways, the lesson went very well and it wasn´t as bad as I thought. I even overplanned. Then we had to write our weekly talks. This weeks topic was about faith and I'm sorry to say this, but I pretty much just translated my farewell talk. It sounds horrible, but everyone there was listening to a new talk.
Then we had to take some more language and gospel tests. I did ok on the gospel test haha but did the best in my class on the Spanish test! Also, all of the new missionaries came in last Wednesday. There are so many of them and Its crazy to think I've already been gone for a month! I don't know about you guys, but its gone by so fast! Anyways, as a district, we've been trying our best to help the new Elders out, because we all know what they are going through.
Also, at the temple last P day, I met a family from Huancayo. They told us how great Huancayo is and I cant wait to go. T minus 14 days. They even said that you can ski there! Unfortunately, I will most likely never get to go. But seriously, I am going to miss my district so much. They have become some of my best friends and I am going to miss them so much. Luckily most of them are going to Huancayo as well.
Next, last Saturday, Elder Dallin H Oaks came and talked to us. I know that for all the missionaries in Provo, you guys get apostles like every other two days, but for us, they only come like once or twice a year! Anyways, I got to shake his hand! I walked up, shook his hand, and he said "Good morning Elder Reinemer". He even said my last name right haha. But he really did give such an amazing talk. All of the Lima South and Lima East missions came to listen as well. During that meeting, we also got to hear from sever of the mission presidents, Elder Oak´s wife, and even the Presiding Bishop over the entire church! Anyways, Elder Oaks is hilarious but also gave such an amazing talk. He really made me appreciate the words of prophets and apostles and want to listen to more talks, Just send me some talks on the next flash drive.
Then for Sunday, my district had to sing the prelude for 15 minutes. By the end of that time, i was about ready to pass out but we sounded good and thats all that matters. Then we learned how to conduct music properly. Throughout seminary, I kind of just winged it and didnt really care. But now that ive learned, Ive realized how dumb I probably looked. I guess there is a proper way to do it haha.
Then I met an Elder named Elder Sannous. He´s from Luke´s mission and he even knew the Ayre family. He was telling me all about Argentina and he even spoke perfect English. He was so funny and we had so much that we both could relate to.
Then we had choir practice. We sang "Child's Prayer", one of the all time best hymns in a mix between Spanish and English. One of the most important lessons that we all learned this week was to turn out in kindness and love at all times. It really made me appreciate all those in my life who have supported me and done everything they can to help me.
Some exciting but scary news, we get to proselyte this Saturday. Im so nervous and will probably only be able to understand like 10 words but I cant wait to get a real preaching experience!°
Then we had several service projects this week. Theyre so fun and some of the workers are so funny. They always sing Shakira and Rihanna with their accents and its hilarious. Then last night, we listened to a devotional by Oaks. They turned off the lights, and by the end of the talk, 90% of the Elders were asleep. But I wasn't haha! Anyway its getting kind of hard writing now, because our schedule is pretty much identical every day. But love you and miss you all so much!
Just some random but funny things: Elder Harris is just like Heidi, and is always trying to convince everyone that dinosaurs aren't real I experienced my first earthquake, kinda scary. It was only for like 5 seconds but it was so weird. They're pretty common I guess but it was something I wasn't expecting to ever happen.
Picture above is of me and Elder Correa. He is from Colombia and is one of the funniest and best soccer players ever!! He's gotta be related to some pro player because he is so good!
