Week 5

Last week at the CCM!  I leave for Huancayo next Monday or Tuesday and Im pretty nervous haha.  I have a lot of Spanish to learn still, hopefully I can learn a ton before next week.  Anyways, today was another great week at the CCM.  So yesterday, after physical activity, we all forgot the key to our room and were locked out for like half an hour.  It was super funny but also pretty stressful.  We ended up only having like 5 minutes to get ready for class.  Not only did we get locked out, but the showers at the CCM were super messed up.  They wouldn't work and after a minute or two, the water turned brown.  It was a pretty annoying thing but a good memory!  Also, apparently there have been a couple small earthquakes during the nights.  I must be sleeping pretty well because I haven't felt any of them.
Then we got to go proselyting on Saturday!  We were able to go to the Lima East mission.  Me and Elder Heredia were paired with a missionary who had been serving for about 7 months.  He was from Utah as well and was super nice.  Anyways, I was super nervous driving to the mission.  After giving us one example of how he likes to approach people, he said: Who's next?  Elder Heredia and I both looked at each other and neither of us wanted to volunteer haha.  Anyways, the time we had proselyting went by super fast and Im pretty exited to go to Huancayo.  We were able to have 4 or 5 20 minute conversations with people and it was awesome.  I found that I could understand quite a bit.  However, the only thing we were really able to do well was bear our testimonies.  I tried my best and I think I did a pretty good job.  Anyways, it was one of the most humbling experiences ive ever had.  Definitely a culture shock.  I've really realized how blessed I have been in my life.  However, the people here are so humble and so happy.  Most of the time, so far, they are pretty open to our message.  It was a great experience and super fun!
This Sunday was great as well.  My district had to pass the sacrament and it was kinda weird haha.  I haven't passed in so long and it was also very strange passing as an Elder, to other Elders.  But Sam Gardiner got called on to give a talk.  He did so good!  It was awesome to see one of my best friends give a talk, especially when these talks are all in Spanish.    Then we watched a film titled:  The Testaments, which was very good.  Then we had a class on how to stay safe in Peru.  Man that freaked me out.  There's so much that could go wrong!  He talked about a disease called "chickengunya" that everyone was laughing about.  But really, not much happens to most Elders, I hope that applies to me.
Then we had a service activity yesterday.  It finished early and we were all able to get a nice nap in.  Later that night, we had choir practice.  We sang-If I could Hie to Kolob.  I love that song.  We tend to sing all my favorite songs, its the best!
Sorry for the short email this week, next week will be a lot different as Ill be in Huancayo.  Love all of you guys so much and miss you all!!!!
Below are some photos of me throughout the week.  I don't know which order their in.  But one of them is me with Elder Sprunt and Elder Kingsolver.  Theyre my favorite companionship at the CCM.  They're both from Utah as well. Unfortunately they are going to Arequipa.  Then there's me with President and Hermana Moore, the CCM presidents, they're the best.  Then there's me and Elder Heredia in front of the Temple.  And one other one, I don't know what it is cause I cant see it.
