Week 7

First week in the field!  Wow, what a change from the CCM haha.  But 'Ill start off from traveling to Huancayo.  Early Monday last week, around 5 am, all of the guys going to Huancayo got onto our bus.  It was a 9 hour bus ride and very scenic.  Yes, there were times I thought we were going to fall of the cliff, but we made it!  I felt kinda sick on the bus ride as did everyone else.  It's a big change going from sea level all the way to 16000 feet in a couple hours!  But yeah, we finally made it and got to have dinner with the Mission President.  They are so cool and so funny.
The next day, we had some information classes about the field and finally got to find out where we will serve.  I got called to stay in the city of Huancayo.  That made me so happy.  Not only did I not want to get on another bus, but I get to serve in the city on my call first!  I'm only one of two Elders staying in Huancayo, the rest are spread out all over.
So my apartment is right above our pensionista.  The family that we stay with has two dogs and 3 parrots.  Its super weird but funny haha.  They all also love learning English.  They're always wanting me to teach them and I love it.  The food is great, and I haven't gotten sick yet thankfully.
But for proselyting, its super fun.  Even though I only understand like half of what people are saying, I try my best to contribute.  As of right now, I just testify after every lesson.  But I'm okay with that, because that's the most important part.  But yes, we have about 3 investigators who are very interested and the rest not so much.  We also got rejected a ton.  We have so many lessons on our agenda, and whenever we knock, no one is home. But hey, that's pretty dang normal on a mission.
One funny experience I've already had involved a drunk guy.  He came up to us, and started bowing down to me.  He thought I was Jesus!  He even said it to me.  He was so blown away and I couldn't stop laughing.  Other than that, the people here are very nice.  Although sometimes that just say ya ya ya ya, and aren't interested.
Conference this week was also great.  All of the missionaries who wanted to watch conference in English (7 of us) had to watch it in the chapel kitchen.  Kinda weird but it was English, I couldn't turn it down.  Anyways, great motivation to work hard even when you are not feeling it.
I'm doing great and enjoy the field.  My Spanish is getting so much better and I am working my hardest to become a good teacher.  Love you all, miss you!

Here are my first photos in the field!  Two of them are the view from my apartment, and I'm in the 3rd one.  The other is me and my companion, Elder Tuesta.  He is from Iquitos Peru (the jungle) and speaks no English whatsoever.  However, it is the best thing for my Spanish.  He is so funny as well and a great teacher.  I got a good trainer!
