Another week down! This week was really good. With December and Christmas so close, as missionaries, we´ve been doing a ton with the "Light the World" project that the church does for Christmas. We´ve gone to Huancayo central several times to hand out cards and invitations. We´ve given out around 5 thousand cards and we hope that some people will act on the invitation. We also hold huge banners in the street. We are doing everything to get more recognition. We also received shirts to wear. But since Peruvians are tiny, my shirt was so small for me haha. Everyone was laughing and it was just something funny that I couldn't change. Hopefully you guys can complete the invitations for "Light the World" as well!
As seen in the pics i sent, I had my first baptism. Although it was an investigator of the Sister missionaries, she wanted to be baptized by me. I had taught her English several times and it was awesome to hear that someone wanted me to baptize them. I felt the spirit so strong and was so stressed before, but in the moment, the words felt easy to say. We should have another baptism in the next two weeks, who are our investigators which will be cool as well. We talked with the father of Felix and Brian (who have a bap date for two weeks) to get permission and he seemed very receptive. However he said he is going to talk to his sons, we hope and pray that he will give them permission, because they want to be baptized. We will meet with them tomorrow to see what is going to happen, hoping for good news!!
Other than Felix and Brian, the other investigators have been progressing super well. We have been visiting a girl named Steffany a lot lately. She had a baptismal date in the past but couldn´t be baptized because her mom didn't approve. She has the greatest desire of any investigator we´ve taught to be baptized and learn more of the gospel. Yesterday, she woke up at 5 a.m. to be able to come to church and she really does have a desire to continue in the gospel. We are talking with her mom and are going to try to tell her about the gospel and get permission. We are going to try to put baptismal dates for 3 more investigators this week, hopefully all goes well. I know I say that a lot but really, we know their ready and can invite them, but cant force anything. Other than that, pretty regular week, going to play some more soccer today!!
