So this week was my second week in Huánuco and it was pretty crazy. Another Elder in our district has been working with us all of this week. His companion got transferred and he still hasn´t received his new companion. So we´ve been a trio all week. It was super fun but also very difficult. We are working in two areas right now and are trying to balance the time and visits we have in each area. We´ve also been walking a toooon. Every time we want to visit someone in another area we have to walk like two miles, so I´m really tired. But we have been trying our best to make sure that the two areas continue progressing. Hopefully he can receive his companion soon though because we have a lot of cool people to visit in our area.
Us, as a trio, had the worst luck ever this week. It was always super funny but everywhere we went, something happened. First, it has been raining all week which isn´t too fun. We´ve all been alternating sleeping on the floor for the other Elder. We broke a plate at our pension´s house on accident. We broke a pipe in our apartment on accident and water just started pouring out. I ended up having to pay for it because it was kinda my fault. And just a BUNCH of other stuff that made it worse. Hopefully, our luck can change this week.
There are also a ton of festivals here in Huánuco. There are a bunch of people called "the negritos of Huánuco" and they are always dancing in the streets. However, they wear some kinda scary masks and I always just watch from afar haha. We also started English classes this week and had about 10 people show up which was cool. It´s really fun teaching English.
So that last Pday, we went to a zoo in Huánuco. It cost 3 soles, or one dollar, and let´s just say that it was worth about less than a dollar haha. We walked in and it was basically just 100 different cages of chickens and two llamas. I mean, I didn´t expect too much going in, but it was literally just chickens. Also, there were just a bunch of dogs running around as well. But it was fun and super funny to walk around it, however, we probably won´t go back.
So we had a zone conference this week and it was super good. There are a lot of changes in the mission. I also learned a lot as well and was able to use some of what I learned in our lessons. Even though we were in a trio, we made a lot of progress with our investigators. We were able to put a baptismal date for 3 people this week! One of them, yesterday at church, even bore his testimony! I was super happy and I hope and pray that they will get baptized. But we were able to find several new investigators this week, and they are all pretty cool. Overall, I love the people here and am so excited to be working here. Love and miss you all!!!!
So like I did last week, I would like you guys to help me pray for my investigators, so here is this week´s list.
1. Neville and Steffany: That they can continue growing in the gospel and be baptized either the 27th of Jan or 15th of Feb.
2. Román: That his mom can improve her health and that he can also be baptized the 27th of Jan.
3. Hermana Candy: Same as last week, gain a testimony of the BoM
4. Hermana Noemi: That she can have the desire to attend church.
Some pics of me at the zone meeting and finally seeing Elder Lilya from my group. He was one of my best friends in the CCM and it was cool to see him. Also I found two of my favorite snacks here in Huanuco, Cup of Noodles and Dr. Pepper. I am also knitting a tie lol and this is the progress after a week, it should take a while to finish it.
