Week 27

This week was another good week in Huánuco.  At the start of this week, my companion had to travel back to Huancayo for a meeting so I had to stay with the zone leaders for 2 days.  It was super fun and I learned a lot from them.  However, at their pension´s house, I ate the grossest thing I have ever eaten in my life.  It was called chuño (I don´t know If I spelled it right).  It´s basically potatoes that have been sitting in the bottom of a river for almost a year, and after a year, they take them out and cook them.  I remember walking into the house and just think what that horrible smell was, turns out it was the food.  It took all three of us missionaries like half an hour to eat it, I almost threw up a couple times haha.  I hope I never have to eat it again.
I was also able to go on divisions with Elder Christensen, the other gringo, in my district.  It was super fun and that day flew by.  It was so nice to talk about the United States and have someone that actually knows what to talk about haha.  We had a lot of good lessons in his area and I hope I can do divisions with him another day.
We also had District P-day this week which was super fun.  We played a lot of games with water balloons because of the holidays going on in Huánuco.  I was the only one at the end of the day who wasn´t soaked which was nice haha.  But today will just be a regular P-day which should be fun.
I had to give a 15 minute talk this week in church.  It went really well and I was surprised to have made the 15 minute mark.  Due to divisions and other appointments we had, I was not able to prepare it until Saturday night which freaked me out haha.  I ended up staying up really late just trying to put something together and was pretty exhausted when I got up the next morning but all is well.
My companion and I had some pretty cool experiences this week as well.  While at church, a young girl came up to us saying that she wanted to be baptized and we have been teaching her all this week.  The only thing holding her back from being baptized is her parents' permission but we will talk to them soon, hopefully it goes well.  Also, we fasted with Katy so that her wedding plans and papers could all go well.  The week before, her plans and papers weren´t progressing at all and she didn´t seem to happy.  So we decided to fast for her and the next day, all of her papers went through and she was so happy.  Now all we have to do is wait for her husband to come home so that they can get married!  But we have found a lot of new investigators this week as well and I am super happy about how the work is going right now.
Just to end I would like to include the list of investigators that could be included in our prayers.
   1. Neville: that he can recieve a testimony of the BOM
   2. Miguel and Adeli: that they as well can receive a testimony of the BOM
   3. Evily: that her parents will give her permission to be baptized
   4. Perci and Sara: that they can receive a testimony of the BOM

Thank you for all your support, Love and miss you all!!!!
