This week was a good week here in Huánuco. We worked super hard. So this week, as a mission, we had a pretty cool activity. We spent all of Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday (other than church), full contacting and finding people. From 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. we were only allowed to contact and if we had other appointments, they were limited to 20 minutes. Those were some super busy days and I was exhausted at the end of the days. We were able to find a lot of people and our planners were pretty full after these days. However, being contacts, a lot of the appointments that we made fell through, but a lot of them didn´t as well which was awesome.
I had a cool experience while contacting that I would like to share. We were higher up on the mountain, in the poorer part of our area. A woman came out of her door and seemed to be a bit rushed, so I just gave her a card with a pic and description of the BOM. A couple minutes later, I saw her sitting down, reading the card. I decided to go back and talk to her about what she was thinking. She told me that someone a month back had mentioned this book to her and was going to give her one, but she was still waiting. She told me she wanted me to bring her a BOM so she could read it. Unfortunately, having gifted them all, we didn´t have one to give. But tomorrow, Tuesday, we have a visit with her which I am super excited about. I know she is going to read the BOM. I was really able to see that God does prepare people to receive this message. But this full contacting idea was really cool and I think it will be more common in the mission.
We also had divisions this week with the zone leaders. I was able to go with Elder Quintanilla from Trujillo. He is super cool and I learned a lot from him. It was also nice to go to his area where it´s not pure mountains haha.
We had a cool Noche misional this week. We had an activity called Noche de Postre. It was where everyone brings their favorite dessert that they make and we all just share and taste them. It was awesome and we had several investigators who loved it. The investigators are always excited about the activities and are beginning to ask us when the next one is. But really fun, sorry no pics of that.
Today, we have to go clean the chapel for the multi-zone conference this week, so it should be a super fun P day haha. I also got bit by a dog for the first time this week which was kind of funny. It was just a little dog so it didn´t hurt or do anything, it just scared me.
Like last week, I would like to end with the list of people that could use our help through prayers:
1. Candy: that she can receive a testimony of the BOM and not be scared of joining the church
2. Neville: that he can recieve a testimony of Joseph Smith and understand the importance of baptism
3. Miguel and Adeli: that God will bless them in their work so they can afford a wedding for later this year
4. Katty: That her wedding for March 16 can go through so she can get baptized!
Thank you all for your love and support, love and miss you all!!!!!
