Week 32

Another week in Huánuco!  This week was ok haha.  Once again, we had the full contact days, 3 times this week!  I was so exhausted and by the end of the days, couldn´t even think in Spanish anymore haha.  We have officially knocked on every door in our area and are now just contacting in the streets and trying to find different ways to meet people.  A lot of the times, we just talk to the old grandmas who knit on the side of the road and try to get them to teach us something new.  But it´s awesome, because we are still finding a lot of new people.  Still, most of them can´t read.  I guess I should explain why no one can read in my area.  So basically, in Huánuco, the people in my area, or the hill/mountain, are considered the "chacra" people.  They mostly earn a living from raising animals, knitting stuff, or working on farms and have never received an education.  They are, for the most part, very nice and humble people but cannot understand very well when we teach them something.  We try to teach simply, but often times, explaining about Joseph Smith or the Book of Mormon can get a little complicated.  We are trying our best, working hard, but it is pretty hard to work here.
Our noche misional, or Sports night, got rained out this week.  It was going to be super fun and we were going to play a ton of games with the ward and our investigators, but it started raining pretty hard and we had to cancel.  I think we might try and do it this next week.
We were also able to do quite a bit of service this week which was super fun.  While contacting, we met an awesome guy from Argentina and we helped him build his house for like 3 hours.  He came to church and is super receptive.  Unfortunately, he is going back to Argentina in the coming weeks.  But at least we were able to help him in some way.  We also helped a member family move houses.  ALL of their stuff was just covered in cockroaches.  We would lift the couch up, and cockroaches would just run everywhere!  I couldn´t do anything either because I was holding the couch while they were running across my feet.  Kinda gross.  We also helped another member construct his house, learned how to make cement and lay bricks and everything, super cool.  But yeah, a lot of service this week which was good.
Semana Santa, or Holy week, started yesterday which is pretty cool.  Mostly a Catholic church thing, but it is cool to see everyone remembering Jesus Christ.  I will try to get some pics when I see something happening.
Other than that, the investigators are kinda progressing.  Katty is for sure getting married and baptized this April which is awesome and I can´t wait to send pics!  Candy wants to get baptized but is struggling because her parents are very against her decision.  She is 22 and could get baptized if she wants, but scared to go against her parents.  We will keep helping her and giving her awesome BOM chapters.  Please pray for her and her parents!  Neville is kinda progressing, hard to find him with his new job.  His daughter Steffany is still so strong in the church which is awesome!
Love and miss you all, thank you for all of your support!!!!!!!
