Sorry it has been so long since I have emailed all of you. I just haven´t had time the last couple Pdays and didn´t want to send you all a super short, lame letter haha. But I´m back haha. Anyways, these past couple weeks have been pretty awesome.
Two weeks ago we had stake conference in the Huancayo stake. It was super awesome and I was able to see a lot of familiar faces. We were also visited by a Seventy, the temple presidents, and President Silva. It was a super awesome conference and I learned a lot. President Silva gave one of the best talks I have ever heard, I seriously don´t know how he does it. He addressed the members on how to share the gospel, and he made it sound so easy. I know and hope that the members can be more involved in missionary work. Anyways, that was my second stake conference in the mission, pretty cool.
Last week, we also had our multizone conference as a mission. This one was a lot different but a lot better. It started Sunday night. President decided to have a face to face with him and his wife. So we go and we all think it will be a Q&A about doctrine, but he tells us no. We were supposed to ask him questions about him and his wife and just about whatever topic we want. It was super awesome and we were all able to learn so much more about President and Hermana Silva. We learned how they met (which was crazy), we learned about President Silva as a missionary (also crazy), what he felt when he recieved his call to serve as President, many more things and very personal spiritual experiences from him. It was a super awesome night and I have honestly come to appreciate President Silva and what he does a lot more.
On monday (pday), suuuuper early, we had multizone pday. Which, as you can tell by the pictures, we went to Huaytapallana. It is a super awesome mountain that you can see from parts of Huancayo. I think, from what President told us, it is around 20,000 feet in elevation and suuuper cold. Anways, we woke up around 6 and we on a bus for an hour to get there. Once we got there, we hiked for around 3 hours, seeing 4 different lakes along the way and a bunch of llamas. I wasn´t that tired to be honest, don´t know how. It was super awesome and definitely a place everyone should go if they visit Huancayo.
THEN, later on monday night. We had a freaking multizone family home evening. It was super fun. President gave a super short message of around five minutes, then told us that a family home evening message should be suuuper short and then you should have fun together. So his message was 5 minutes, then we played about 2 hours of games. It was super fun and the best family home evening I have been to haha.
On Tuesday morning we had our actual Multizone conference. We learned a lot about goals and how we as a mission can achieve our goals that we have put. It was a very spiritual meeting and I learned a lot.
Anyways, these past couple weeks have been pretty exciting. Still working hard. Jeff has gone to church 3 times now and will get baptized soon, he still wants a little more preparation. Hermano Moises and his family are once again active in the church, their two daughters, Cielo and Sayuri, should be getting baptized soon as well. Like I said, lots of inactive members in this ward, we are trying to help them as much as we can. Sounds like a lot of them have had problems with the bishop and that´s why they don´t like to go. We have still been doing a lot of service projects for the members in the ward, they are definitely trusting us a lot more. I have to give a talk next sunday at church, luckily it is only 5 minutes. I can´t remember what else has happened so if I remember next week, I will write you more. Love and miss you all!!!!!!
Elder Villamil and Me. Also a group of elders who all served in the same area in Huánuco.
Me and Elder Cotacachi, he is one of my favorite elders in tghe mission. He is so funny haha.
A clothes store named Hans. This super huge cathedral in Huancayo. It is always super crowded but I finally got a picture.
Elder Christensen and I in divisions, he is probably my best friend in the mission haha. Oh! And I went on divisions with elder christensen this past week. We had a super fun time and it is always nice to speak english for a bit. He also had milkshakes in his area which were awesome.
This is the glacier at the top, took like 3 hours to get there. Only about half of the missionaries made it to the top haha, but here is everyone that made it.
Elder Quintanilla, Elder Christensen, and me.
This is the famous spot in Huaytapallana. The water is soooooo blue. It was so pretty but so cold as well.
