Good first week here in Oxapampa. Opening an area is hard but fun. We have to contact a lot because we don´t know anybody, but we are getting to know a lot of people. We have already found quite a few people who we can tell have been waiting for us. From what I have seen, the people here in the jungle are a lot more receptive than those in other parts of the mission. They are a lot more kind, and willing to listen for a bit. Also, Oxapampa is huge. I was told there were around 15000 people in total and I didn´t think it would be that big, but we always end up walking a ton.
Our areas also include little towns that are outside of Oxapampa, if you want to look them up, here are a couple of them; Pozuzo, Chontabamba, Huancabamba. Overall, I am really enjoying my time here and am working very hard.

As for the ward here in Oxa, it isn´t doing so well. We are already visiting quite a few less actives and trying to help them come back. This Sunday, there were around 80 people at church which isn´t too bad, but the directory says there are a lot more members that are not coming. We are going to keep working and do everything to help the ward grow. But the good thing, is that we have already received quite a few references from the members and are working with them. I will try to send some pics but the internet here is super slow, we will see. Anyways, just a lot of finding right now, I will let you know of the people we find next week.
Love and miss all of you!!!!
