Pretty exciting week here in Oxapampa, even though I was in Huancayo for most of the week. I started of the week in Villa Rica with Elder Cano. I had to go be with him and help in his area, especially with the activity that he had that night (Monday). I ended up spending P day there in Villa which was fun and I will send some pics. But overall, already a lot of traveling. I had to go to La Merced from Oxa which is almost two hours to meet up with Elder Cano, head back to Villa Rica for a day and come back the next, adding another two hours of travel. Anyways on Tuesday we had to head to Huancayo for training and for our companions, which is another 5 hours of travel. Luckily, I got to visit a lot of people there and see old faces. One of the best things is that I got to visit Jeff, my recent convert. He told me that he got a calling in the young men´s presidency and gave a talk in church. It made me so happy to see that he is still strong and still so excited about the church.
The next day (Wednesday) we had a training and then we got assigned our comps. My new companion is Elder Flores, from Mexico. Apparently he lives super close to the pyramids there in Mexico. After some talks, we got a visit by Elder Montoya which was pretty cool but then we had to travel back which was pretty interesting haha.
In the afternoon, around 2:00 we went to the bus stop to head to La Merced which takes about 4-5 hours, and the guy told me that the bus was going to leave in 20 minutes so I was like, cool, and bought the tickets. The bus ended up leaving around 2 hours later and it was super boring. Then, within ten minutes of leaving the bus stop, we got in a tiny car crash, our driver takes of the side view mirror of another driver and we have to pull over. The police came and they ask for the driver's documents and he didn´t have them. Apparently he wasn´t even supposed to be driving a vehicle haha. He called another van to come pick us up and we had to wait about an hour for that van to come, even though we were only 10 minutes away from the bus stop. We get on the new bus to take us and we think it´s all over, this guy has to buy gas now. For whatever reason, they ask all of for documents at the gas station and it takes another half hour to get gas. We finally get to La Merced at like 9 at night and it was the worst day ever but a good experience.
The first day with my new comp was good because it was a day that was full of appointments and we got to teach a lot of people. We had a good week. We should have a baptism in the coming weeks for Christmas which should be good. Anyways, I am going to finish with the list of investigators that need our help
Naomi: that she can get baptized on the 23rd
Kenyo: that he can receive a testimony, already has come to church a bunch
Noemi: that she can come to church, she already wants to be baptized but can´t come to church
Angela: that she can come to church
Domitila: that she can receive a testimony
One more random thing, every time we come back to the room, we find a new spider. We clean a lot but spiders just appear every where here and I hate it haha.
Love and miss you all!!!!
