Hey everyone, this week was pretty good! Starting my second change with Elder Flores (kid), we had a pretty good week. One of our goals for the week was to visit a lot of members and share the message of the Restoration. It has been working very well and we have been able to strengthen the members and also receive several references.
One thing I have noticed a lot on my mission is the importance of visiting members. Not only are we here to find and teach new people but to also visit the members that need help, also, they are the ones who are going to remember us as missionaries most. I have been able to get to know a lot of members here in Oxapampa and it makes me so happy to know that I have more friends here in Peru haha.
We are teaching a lot of people right now, and it is awesome to see each and every one of them progress. Two people in specific, are progressing a lot. They are Kenyo and Dina. They both have baptismal dates for the end of this month and are progressing a lot. We are reading the BOM with them a lot and helping them to find out if this message is true. I would ask you all to please pray for Kenyo and Dina to be able to be baptized. We have also found quite a few new people to teach this week and they all seem pretty cool. The hardest part is getting the investigators to come to church. When they come, it shows that they really do have the desire, but when they don´t, it seems to me that they are not quite ready. The good news is that we always have several at church and it makes me happy.
It has been raining a ton, I am so happy I have several pairs of shoes haha. We started doing Volly-Viernes (volleyball Friday) here at the ward and it is working a lot haha. Here in Peru they love volleyball and every week, more people come.
Another hard part about Oxa is that during these times (vacations) there are a ton of tourists and when we go contacting, the majority of people are not from here but are just on vacations.
But yeah, this is all that I can remember from the week, if you have questions let me know, Love and miss you all!!!!!!
A cool parrot that we found just walking in the street, we had to see if it could imitate us.
