Hey everyone, my last week was pretty awesome!! To start off the week, we FINALLY went to Tingo Maria! It was the one place in the mission that I wanted to visit before I left and we finally went! It was super pretty and awesome to see the jungle again before leaving. We left pretty early, around 5 a.m. and went directly to the city lookout, then the snake place/zoo, and finished just eating lunch by the lake. We got back pretty late and didn´t have much time to write, decided to wait for another day with permission to write my last email. Then we had our Multi´zone conference on Tuesday and had another chance to meet more of our new President. He taught a lot about the basics, how people need to read, pray, and attend church to be able to feel the spirit. I loved his first training and like the attitude that the new president has, I feel like the mission is going to have a lot of success with him.
Ingrid also got baptized! She was so happy and so was I. I was so happy to have been able to baptize her. I am happy to have finished my mission off strong and having had the opportunity to help one more person be baptized.
But yeah, last email of the mission! I just want to make a list of things that I have learned and loved in the last two years:
-I know that God´s plan is perfect and that although we may not understand his plan, we only need to trust that everything is going to work out, be as obedient to his commandments as possible, and trust that everything is going to be ok.
-I know that God gives us trials in order to help us learn essential lessons and gain experience to grow and improve our lives.
-I have learned that The Book of Mormon is very true and as I have read it in the mission, I have discovered that it truly does contain everything we need in order to know how to follow God and his son Jesus Christ.
-I know that Jesus Christ did die for our sins and only through him we can be forgiven of our sins and leave them behind in the past, focusing on a happier future. I am happy to know that God is always willing to forgive us when we sincerely repent, no matter how many times we make mistakes.
-I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church and is guided by men who are called and inspired of God.
-Prayer is real. Though sometimes we may not feel that God hears our prayers I have learned that he does. He may not always answer us immediately or with the desired answer, but he answers us. I love praying and am glad to know that I have a loving heavenly father who hears me. I also know that when combined with fasting, prayer becomes more powerful.
-Last but not least, I know that this gospel brings true happiness. This gospel truly can change people, and it has changed my own life. Only by following God´s plan and living the gospel can we find true joy and happiness, even when facing trials and challenges.
I am so thankful for having been a missionary for these last two years. I am grateful to have met so many amazing people and places, and have learned so much from being here in Peru. I have learned some essential lessons, some of which I would have never learned had I not come on a mission. I am excited to return home and to continue to improve with the help of family and friends. I love all of you and am so thankful for your support, see you all soon!!!!
